As Robert Glasper tells it, "Erykah [Badu] loves flutes, so I arranged this song with flutes in it." As such, their take on "Afro Blue" is filled with woodwinds and, of course, plenty of silky piano, a combination that brings some new life into the jazz standard. As some of y'all might know, the song was originally composed by Mongo Santamaria, though most of us know it thanks to the work of John Coltrane. You can stream Glasper and Badu's smooth, lounge-y take on the "Afro Blue" below. It stems from Glasper's upcoming album, Black Radio, which drops Feb. 28 on Blue Note.
