Rihanna's video for "Man Down" is a video piped in from another era. It hearkens back to the time when a label could spend thousands of dollars on a music video-- with a rape revenge plot that starts with Rihanna dome-piecing some dude-- for a faux-reggae song that imagines the music of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh as pop for elevators. This is like a Lonely Island song, except that no one is joking. That "rum bumba bum" thing has to be lifted from a Flight of the Conchords jam I can't remember. But no this is the new video from Rihanna, the fifth or sixth single from her LOUD album to get the video treatment, and probably the least necessary. But with Gaga dominating this realm, Rihanna's people have to keep her in the news. This will work for a few hours, I guess.
I thought the "rum bumba bum" is taken from "The Little Drummer Boy".
