I’m sure that this video for R.E.M.’s “Man-Sized Wreath” (from Accelerate) is supposed to make me go out and do something political (like vote, overthrow the government, or buy local produce) but it all seems a little forced. I previously thought this song was just about a huge Christmas decoration hurting a dude, but apparently it’s about 8-bit men in limos who hit other 8-bit men while R.E.M. sloganeers on billboards.

 

The song isn’t that bad all things considered (the guitar riff is pretty great), but the video is kind of a dud.
