It's pretty easy identify a Ratatat track within the first five seconds of hearing it. So, give them a little credit on this new song, which begins with five seconds of foreboding sounding muttered German until it erupts into the heavy bass and arpeggiated synthesizers that we've become accustomed to in the last six years.
"Drugs" is as disorienting as its title suggests, and it finds the New York electronic duo pushing their established sound to its most frantic heights. Ratatat: The official soundtrack of those up to no good.
The group's new album LP4 re-ignites the party on June 8th on XL recordings.
