The team behind Raphael Saadiq's forthcoming album, Stone Rollin', is doing a fine job of balancing his serious and carefree jams. They kicked things off with the summery "Radio," which was followed by the cinematic, mini-epic "Good Man." And now, they're back to the upbeat, positive vibes with "Stone Rollin'," the third single off the album. The track is a bluesy, doo wop-leaning romp, with its video featuring Saadiq and his boys playing for a collection of curvy females. It's almost like they hired him and his band to perform for a ladies-only party hosted by the Victoria's Secret models. Lordy.
Stone Rollin' drops May 10.
It has a good old time feel with a new jack swing(yes I said New jack swing). The use of the blues, jazzy tone seems to fit Saadiq's style.
