Raphael Saadiq: "Radio" (Video)
Raphael Saadiq is one of those dudes who seems like he just really loves the sounds of the past. And it's interesting because it all comes after he started as part of some big movements, such as new jack swing with Tony! Toni! Tone! and neo-soul/funk years later on his own. Either way, he's shown that he wants to continue the throwback sounds of The Way I See It by jumping back to another era on Stone Rollin'. His first single, "Radio," portrays that perfectly, as it's an infectious blending of doo-wop and Beach Boys surf-rock. It will certainly be intriguing to see if the entirety of Stone Rollin' will be this enjoyable.
