Rain Machine: Daytrotter Session (Download/Streaming)

Kyp Malone is enjoying his extended break from TV on the Radio by indulging in his Rain Machine project. The singer/guitarist is still promoting the eponymous album he released in his solo guise, and showed up to the Daytrotter studios to add to the excellent selection of audio files on their website.

All four tracks here feature on the album, although these versions have a live feel, and show how Malone and his band have stretched out after a bout of touring following the record’s release. The raucous “Hold You Holy” is the highlight here, with its driving church organ sound and Malone’s slow-build vocal stylings driving the song to a near-perfect climax.
