Raheem DeVaughn: "Bulletproof" ft. Ludacris (Live at Soul Train Awards) (Video)
Raheem DeVaughn's "Bulletproof" was the only song that sounded like the soul Soul Train used to celebrate that was performed on the Soul Train Awards last night. It's also no coincidence that it was the highlight of the broadcast, with DeVaughn preaching in the spirit of Al Green and Marvin Gaye, talking about tanks and guns and basically every social ill effecting anyone in 2009.

it is good to see the legacy continue, but it is incumbent on the benefactors of the don cornelius' legacy to seek the advice of the older soulteers who originated and constructed the funk to help them present a more unique concert/show in the future... it is ironic that this was one of the better performancers, but it was not televised... seek the wise counsel of elders young people or you are doomed to failure... in plain talk

Love the song and I love them both. I have been a Raheem Devaughn fan for years, and this one was impressive. I grew up in the Chicago neighborhood where that young man was beaten in the streets (the same clip in the video). I am glad that music of our generation is finally being used to shed light on what's going on in the world. Its easy to be distracted by tv and some of this music we hear on the radio.

Raheem DeVaughn is a talented artist. His team did a good job infusing the Curtis Mayfield horns into his mix. The lyrics are profound and right on point with the modern times. Soul Train produced an excellent background of red, black & green, Professor Griff and his crew, and the black leather and sunglasses, made a perfect setup for this song to be done. Raheem and Luda choreographed nicely into the piece to make this song THE MOST MEMORABLE AND POIGNANT SONG OF THE NIGHT.
