Raekwon: Criminology 2 (MP3) ft. Ghostface
More than a decade on, and we finally get our first taste of the sequel to Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... The track, which is not as of yet the album's first offical single, features Ghostface Killah (thank God), and essentially recycles the beat from the original "Criminology," except that it sounds a little less menacing and a little less lively. Heck, they even threw another Scarface sample in to kick off the track. Perhaps my expectations are too high, but when we're talking Cuban Linx, to me, that means we should be dealing with an immortal classic. This doesn't feel like a classic.
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II is due out on April 7th.

Not a bad track tho. Considering the waste that Wu-Tang has been putting out I prefer the simplicity of this track. Or it could just be I've waited to damn long for this album. Whatever the case I'm feelin' it.
I think Rae and Ghost sound good on the track, but I prefer the beat of the original track.
Rae and Ghost are pretty decent, but it just makes me want to hear the original. The beat, the performances, everything is pretty much perfect. The original Cuban Linx had my favorite production of any of the Wu-Tang albums I've heard, so I'm a tough sell. I should probably wait to reserve judgment until I hear an original production for Linx 2.
yeah. this just makes me want to hear the original. its kinda gimmicky, like saying 'hey so you know that its really Cuban Linx II, we're just going to recycle the old beats.'
Aw man, cmon. I can't believe people arent feeling this. By the same criteria, y'all woulda said "Can It Be All So Simple (Remix)" is a lesser track because it recycled the beat.
