The recent Barsuk signees from Syracuse must have left a favorable impression on the late night viewing audience last evening because "Ra Ra Riot" was one of the top 100 search terms on Google Trends after their performance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
It was the group's network television debut. "Ghosts Under Rocks" is off The Rhumb Line, which was released on August 19. [Stereogum]
Did Conan always hold up the vinyl, or did he used to show CDs when introducing the band? And if he switched, when did he switch?
I've seen him do it before. Vinyl looks so much better on TV (you can actually see it without resorting to a super tight shot, no glare from studio lights), I'd guess that they'd always prefer to show vinyl whenever it's available.
Letterman has showed vinyl before as well. I'm pretty sure he did for Modest Mouse. I think all the late night hosts have done it at some point.

This doesnt really make an impression on me at all. Am I missing the point or is this band just really mediocre? The singer acts like a kid who needs to use the bathroom.

You should check out their full album. It does them more justice.
