“R4 Theme Song” (Video)

Plenty of songs on Big K.R.I.T.’s break-through project, 2010’s K.R.I.T. Wuz Here, could easily serve as the rapper-producer’s manifesto. But none of them would capture just how much he has grown in just the past year like “R4 Theme Song.” As its title implies, it is essentially the title track off his recently released Return of 4eva, another free and absolutely fantastic effort from K.R.I.T.

With a wailing vocal sample behind him, he wears his influences — most notably Outkast and UGK — on his sleeve during “R4 Theme Song.” And here, the celebratory track gets outfitted with some visuals of the Meridian, Miss. native just chilling in the studio with his buddies. It might not be flashy, but K.R.I.T. wouldn’t have it any other way. As he says in the track, “Never change, I can’t be Hollywood/I’m way too country plus I’m bumpin’ in my neighborhood.”
