R. Kelly is currently in the U.K. promoting his 2010 album Love Letter, and he made this suitably smooth appearance on Jools Holland’s show last night as part of his duties. It’s too bad Kelly and Adele (who was also on the show) couldn’t have collaborated on a duet together, as this kind of sultry R&B sets exactly the kind of mood that would lead to a perfect match up between the pair. Despite such a missed opportunity Kelly really delivers here—he actually looks like he might be about to burst into tears at the midway point, which is either a demonstration of how much he’s feeling the Love Letter material or proof that he can really ham it up with the greats.
