Detroit will make another sizeable mark on the world's hip-hop map in 15 days when rapper/producer Quelle Chris issues his new album, Shotgun and Sleek Rifle. He crafted a majority of the record's instrumentals, though he also received help from Roc Marciano, House Shoes, and other like-minded hip-hop cats. On "Symbolic (Basquiat)," however, it's all Quelle everything.
Well, mostly, as he receives some help on the hook from his Crown Nation cohort Denmark Vessey on the hook. But it's Quelle who handles the minimalist, brooding production and verses, the latter of which feature MMA fighter name-drops and colonic-referencing threats. Watch the video below.
