Q-Tip’s The Renaissance hasn’t been pushed back from its November 4 release date, so it seems like it is actually coming out. There’s been a flury of activity from the Q-Tip camp as of late, and the latest piece of audio to come out is this remix of Renaissance single, “Gettin Up” featuring Eve. The original’s beat is pretty much removed and replaced with a sample that sounds a lot like Puff Daddy’s “It’s All About the Benjamins.” Tip’s verses are mostly new, and Eve’s bars are pretty menacing—she sounds like the Eve of old on the track. The original’s calm confidence is substituted with swagger, and I’m not sure if I like the change. [Nahright]
