Public Enemy

"Bring the Noise" (Live on Jimmy Fallon) (Video)

It was Flavor Flav’s 50th birthday this weekend, and Public Enemy celebrated in style. The band performed its seminal It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back album in New York, and hip-hop legends Eric B, Melle Mel and Ice T were among the special guests at the show.

The celebrations continued last night (March 16) on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where Public Enemy performed “Bring the Noise” with house band the Roots. The song, which is now 22 years old, still sounds as fresh as the day it was included on the Less Than Zero soundtrack, with Chuck D truly showing why he’s one of the greatest MCs of all time.

I was skeptical at how this would sound, but this was great. Kind of wish I was going to Roots picnic to hear the whole thing.
