"School Glue" kicks off Brooklyn indie outfit Pterodactyl's new long player Spills Out in confusing fashion. The song sounds like a tranquilized version of a song that should be played at twice the speed, the guitars squalling all over one another, the drums only reaching a certain level of intensity before levellng off, and the vocals stuck in constant swoon mode. None of the above are bad things, though, as they all contribute to a palpable sense of tension that never finds full release, making it a track that keeps you on edge throughout its running time. Check it out over at Pitchfork.
Spills Out is due out Nov. 15 via Brah.
