Late in the summer, while we were all anticipating TV On The Radio's release of what would eventually become Prefix album of the year frontrunner Dear Science, two tracks from the album were leaked: "Golden Age" and "Dancing Choose." Both were eventually deemed standouts from the album, so it would make sense that after TVOTR was done frolicking with "Golden Age" as their first single, that "Dancing Choose" would follow. Sure enough, the "Dancing Choose" single will be released on January 12, and NME has already acquired one of the B-sides: a remix of the song by Warp Records' Prefuse 73.

I'm actually not a big fan of the remix, though I am certainly impressed by the juxtaposition. I've come around to really like the original song despite my initial skepticism. Prefuse 73,  (Guillermo Scott Herren)'s remix, however, emphasizes all the things I initially didn't like about the song, and it's elaborate vocal looping clouds the ingenuity of the lyrics. Herren, however, has done multiple remixes with artists like Sunn O))), Hella, School Of Seven Bells, and Pivot, and he certainly has his legions of fans. What say you, Prefix?
