‘Popular Culture’ (Mixtape)

Wichita, Kansas-based rapper XV has been grinding for a long while now, but if his new mixtape Popular Culture is as solid as past tapes like Zero Heroes, dude might have something of a big break coming his way. As the artwork suggests, the tape has a lot to do with modern pop culture, as it has song titles including “Andy Warhol,” “Breaking Bad,” and “Aaahh!!! Real Monsters,” the latter of which was named after a late-’90s Nickelodeon series I forgot years ago. At any rate, with features including Schoolboy Q and B.o.B., it’s probably good idea to give this one a listen. Do so below.
