There’s a new PJ Harvey album due in February titled Let England Shake, and it looks like the bulk of the record is going to be previewed online via a set of video clips. Director Seamus Murphy has shot short films for each of the 12 tracks on the album, and the first of those, for “The Last Living Rose,” can be sampled above.
Murphy shot the clips whilst taking a 5,000 mile road trip around England, and the video is filled with odd ephemera he picked up on during the jaunt, and the occasional clip of Harvey herself. The song is a short, mid-paced number with horn stabs and some neatly plucked guitar lines—it’s difficult to get a sense of the overall direction of the album yet, especially considering the more obtuse title track, but it looks like all will be revealed sooner rather than later.
