PJ Harvey & John Parish: "Black Hearted Love" (Live on Leno) (Video)
PJ Harvey and John Parish stopped by the
Tonight Show
on Tuesday night (March 24) to perform a track from their forthcoming album,
A Woman A Man Walked By
. They’re joined by former Captain Beefheart sideman Eric Drew Feldman and a group of other players, all of whom look like they’ve stepped straight out of a ‘50s film noir.
The song is dense and guitar heavy, and Harvey’s performance, which is barefoot and sprightly throughout, is distinctly at odds with its subject matter. If “Black Hearted Love” is an indication of the album’s direction, it looks set to be the most impressive Harvey record since
Stories From the City, Stories from the Sea
in 2000.
Thanks for that. They played some of the tracks from the new album in LA on Monday, they're by no means as rocky as this single though- it looks like it'll be a pretty varied sounding album.
damnit- the video has disappeared!
