The lucky folks at NPR got to witness an intimate performance from Phoenix yesterday (May 18) when the French group showed up for the Tiny Desk Concerts series. The set lasted for 11 minutes and included Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix favorites “1901” and “Lisztomania” as well as a version of “Playground Love” from the Virgin Suicides soundtrack.
Phoenix mania apparently descended on NPR when the group showed up—“ When Phoenix is on the docket, the earth moves. Senior VPs reschedule executive meetings. Employees smuggle in their spouses, roommates and children,” claims the note accompanying this video of the performance. Click here to see the full set.
