Dr. John apparently appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show last night, and would have made the perfect guest to perform a version of a song from the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main St., especially as he actually appeared on the original album. But, for some mysterious reason, we got Phish doing a version of “Loving Cup.”
Instead of focusing on their terribly uninspired and boringly faithful version of the track, let’s take a look at this Keith Richards interview from the show. The legendary guitarist is in great wisecracking form, clearly enjoying promoting the Exile album, talking about his inspirations, and making fun of his younger self. Richards also reveals that he has an autobiography coming out, which has been rumored for a while—the only problem? “I can’t remember a thing,” he says, unsurprisingly.
