I'm starting to worry that The Golden Filter are ghosts, or vampires. They make a relatively large deal out of secrecy and anonymity, yet they have performed live and there are still no pictures of them, and no one knows who they are (if they've got any previous notoriety). Secrecy notwithstanding, they certainly manage to get work. This Golden Filter remix bears only the faintest resemblance to the original track by Peter Bjorn and John, with the Golden Filter's singer (whoever she is) only appropriating the surprisingly catchy "Hey, shut the fuck up boy" chorus. The vocals of PB&J frontman Peter Moren are still present in places, though they take backseat to the opiate, bedroom vocals of the Golden Filter. Elsewhere the track is dressed up in ballroom strings and a future Mororderesque synth, among other disco business. Peter Bjorn and John's Living Thing is out March 31 in the U.S. [Pitchfork]
