I haven’t seen David Lynch’s Inland Empire, but I have a bunch of friends who keep raving about it. Part of me feels I’d probably prefer this Peter Bjorn and John instrumental, which sounds like a long-lost Grindhouse soundtrack for a movie about a guy out for revenge, to Lynch’s picture.
“Inland Empire” is taken from PB&J’s upcoming instrumental album, Seaside Rock, due out on September 23 via Almost Gold. The album is meant as a stopgap as the group work on their follow-up to 2007’s Writer’s Block, this one, presumably with vocals. [Pitchfork]
