Unremarkable indie-rock troubadour Pete Yorn hired Frank Black of Pixies fame to gussy up his new self-titled album, the first taste of which is below via 24-Bit. The first single is called "Precious Stone," and it's really not all that different than a normal Pete Yorn song, except for the "prod. by" tag and the distorted "ooh oohs" in the chorus. Mostly I co-sign by B. Wall's statement that not even the Pixies can get me excited about a Yorn album at this point.
Pete Yorn is due out on Sept. 28.

good thing you put Frank Black in the title
But you admit there was a point where you did get excited about Pete Yorn. Didja have a tee-shirt? Front row at the concert? President of the fan club?
