Pete Yorn has an eponymously titled album out now, which was produced by Frank Black from the Pixies and includes the song “Precious Stone,” which he performed for Jay Leno’s show last night (Oct. 14). This is Yorn’s first record since his collaboration with Scarlett Johansson on the Break Up album.
This is the kind of robust rock number that Yorn has been carefully constructing over his five-album career during the past 10 years, with familiar shades of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Grant Lee Buffalo, and Ryan Adams’s work with Whiskeytown thrown into the mix.
