Carson Daly is clearly a big fan of Pete Yorn—the talk show host called him in for an interview and a live appearance on his show last night (Sept. 16). The prolific Yorn has released two new albums this year, one solo effort named Back and Forth, and the Break Up album with Scarlett Johansson.
It’s to the former that he turns here, performing the melancholy opening track on the album, “Don’t Wanna Cry.” Yorn talks to Daly about his penchant for downbeat songwriting and the recording process of Back and Forth, although he strangely neglects to talk about his work with the pouty film star.
