Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson: "Relator" (Video)
It's going to impossible for Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson to shake the She & Him comparison for reasons other than them being a roots-rocker coupled with a pretty actress: their first single, "Relator," sounds exactly like a song from She & Him, what with its cutesy instrumentation and chorus, and Johannson's reappearing and disappearing southern accent. The duo's album, The Break-Up, is, as its title suggests, all about a break-up. It's due out on Sept. 8 via Atco/Rhino. [Stereogum]

I really dig this song. Break Up is more of a Yorn album than anything. Johansson is little more than a back-up vocalist, but she does provide the highlights on the album. So while the comparisons are sure to be made, this album is nothing like She & Him.
