Pete and the Pirates: "Winter 1" (Phewneral Remix)
As it appears on their sophomore album, One Thousand Pictures, Pete and the Pirates' "Winter 1" is kind of exactly what you might expect from the British indie pop outfit. It's undeniably catchy, filled with toe-tapping percussion, and head-swaying melodies. It's also apparently a choice track for remixing purposes if you're Virginia's Phewneral, who has taken "Winter 1" and given it a pulsing beat and enough synthesizers to make it dance floor material. It is also two times longer than the original and has a grimy-yet-woozy quality to it, which makes it more than just another throbbing dance remix of a rock tune.
You can stream the track below. One Thousand Pictures is out now while a "Half Moon Street" single will be released Aug. 29.
