I sort of half-expected Pearl Jam's "The End" to be a cover of the Doors original, this allowing Pearl Jam to complete the transformation into a classic rock act (let's face it, that's what they are). But no dice; it's a new song from the band's ninth studio album, Backspacer. The video above was recorded at the band's show at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire, and it just features Eddie Vedder singing about fatalism with an acoustic guitar. It's not clear how this will sound on wax, but as is, it fits nicely with "Get Some" and "The Fixer."
