Patrick Wolf: "Vulture" (NSFW) (Video)

Patrick Wolf has attempted to drum up some controversy ahead of the release of his The Bachelor album by donning bondage gear for his “Vulture” video. The album has endured a difficult gestation period, with Wolf even asking fans to contribute to its funding. The Bachelor is due for release in June, with its counterpart album, The Conqueror, due some time in 2010.

“Vulture” is a piece of sleazy electro that’s enjoyable enough, but not really fit to lick the leather boots of Soft Cell or Man Parrish. It’s not a million miles away from the hackneyed electroclash sound of the early 2000s, so hopefully The Bachelor will contain something more inventive than this. The video won’t be shocking unless you’re extremely prudish, but it’s probably not wise to press the play button if your boss at work is hovering over your shoulder.
