The corpse of the Blood Brothers has been cold for about a year, long enough for the former members to reanimate it and take it out dancing for some posthumous Weekend At Bernie's style action. Compared to other Blood Brothers offshoots Neon Blonde, Jaguar Love and Champagne Champagne, Past Lives (featuring ex-BB vocalist Jordan Blilie, bassist Morgan Henderson and drummer Mark Gajadhar, along with early BB guitarist Devin Welch) hew mighty close to the vaunted BB house style on "Strange Symmetry," the title track off their new EP, out fisicalmente on November 4th through Suicide Squeeze. There's the same androgynous sass and noisy guitar squawking shoved into a dance pocket, but dare I say it the groove is a little...deader than expected? Hence the band name, one hopes.
