Even without Beach House sound sculptor Alex Scally helming a lot of Jason Quever's record, it would be nearly impossible not to compare Quever's Papercuts single "Future Primitive" to Beach House; the song is all antique reverb, dry cracking vocals, and big swaying moments of vocal harmony. In the video a man, who I presume is Quever, wanders through the desert like a primitive who seems very lonely (but not so futuristic).
Papercuts' You Can Have What You Want is out now via Gnomonsong. [Pitchfork]
