Oneohtrix Point Never: "Sleep Dealer"
Daniel Lopatin has had a busy year, with his Ford & Lopatin project winning plenty of acclaim and a new album under his Oneohtrix Point Never guise set for release in November. That record is titled Replica, and it’s being previewed by the jittery “Sleep Dealer,” which you can hear in full below. This is more disjointed than most of the placid jams on the prior Returnal, with plenty of cut-up samples colliding with one another as the song takes its unusual shape. Lopatin has really carved out his own space in the electronic music world over the past few years, and “Sleep Dealer” suggests he’s expanding that further with Replica. Expect great things when it drops on Software on Nov. 8.
