Oneohtrix Point Never: "Replica"
In a little over a month Daniel Lopatin will be delivering Oneohtrix Point Never’s Replica, which should build on the crossover success of Returnal from 2010. The title track of Replica has just been put out, and it’s a piano-driven piece full of low-key electronic sounds that feels like a natural progression from Antony’s version of “Returnal.” This doesn’t sound like Lopatin is leaning too hard on the glassy sounds that made his name under this moniker, but it does feel like the logical next step for him to take with the OPN project. Replica is released on Nov. 5 on Software/Mexican Summer. [via GvsB]
