Stephen Colbert lampooned Ok Go’s Rube Goldberg inspired video for “This Too Shall Pass” on his show last night (see video below) before inviting the band to perform the song. Is this the most spectacular intro to Colbert’s show yet? And where can we get one of those cardboard cut-outs of Colbert?
Damian Kulash and Tim Nordwind from the band answered none of the above questions in the interview clip below, in which Colbert wondered whether he would catch digital herpes from their viral videos, discussed how they put that infamous clip together for “This Too Shall Pass,” and asked them whether being boring is the new hip. You said it, Stephen. Look out for some vocals from Colbert himself toward the end of the song.
I'm loving that musical guests have become a more consistent part of Colbert's show as of late, the not giving guests the chance to answer questions during the interview shtick can get a bit boring...
