That fall tour by Of Montreal and Janelle Monae looks set to be one of the most memorable jaunts around the country in recent memory, and certainly adds to the build up to the release of False Priest. Last night (July 29) the band teamed up with Solange Knowles to perform “Sex Karma” from the record on Jimmy Fallon’s show.
Of Montreal look cramped on the tiny Fallon stage, and are no doubt looking forward to more expansive spaces to fully deliver their music, but this offers a taster of what to expect. There’s a sense that they’re still getting used to the new material here, with Kevin Barnes looking unusually pensive, but both he and Solange do just about enough to detract from the terrible performance art going on behind them.
In addition to "Sex Karma," the group stayed in white-face to perform the web exclusive track "Coquet Coquette" (below).
