Of Montreal has a new track out from their upcoming album Skeletal Lamping. Those who love the particular brand of weirdo rock from the Athens, Georgia band will be utterly baffled and mystified by "Nonpariel of Favor," a track that goes from classic glam to No Wave revival without any sense of continuity. It's certainly bizarre, but I wonder what the point of the exercise other than to weird people out. It should be noted that even the Mars-like portion of "Nonpariel of Favor" is significantly more upbeat than the classic no wave, Suicide-influenced antagonizers of musicianship. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up for debate, but it's certainly a track to raise intrigue over the new album.
Skeletal Lamping hits stores October 7th. Download "Nonpareil of Favor" here.

Rocks so hard it's just stupid... The rest of the album is quite funky, this one is pretty different from the bunch. Not that i heard the album already... i mean, it's not out yet... and... Well, you know.
