Jim Breuer once joked that AC/DC could perform the hokey pokey and it would still sound basass. It was funny because it was true, and I'm pretty sure Nickelodeon is now testing the limits of that hypothesis. Yo Gabba Gabba!, a Nick Jr. show whose name does, in fact, come from the Ramones, has put together a comp of rock bands popular with young adults on a compilation meant for toddlers. We've already encountered the Clientele, Chromeo, and the Roots on the comp. Of Montreal may be the first pure "Pitchfork band" on the list, reminding toddlers to brush their teeth in indie-friendly style.
I find this rather amusing, because Kurt Cobain once claimed that indie rock was for losers who "didn't brush their teeth." Nonetheless, I guess of all the things to get worked up about in indie rock, dental hygiene isn't that high on the list
