I'm Outta Time (Audio)

Ryan Adam has drawn parallels between the new Oasis album Dig Out Your Soul and Radiohead’s Kid A. Noel Gallagher has claimed it’s “not our usual thing,” hinting that he may be about to take Oasis in a radical new direction. Guess what? This new song, “I’m Outta Time,” sounds like, yes you guessed it, the Beatles. The song is a Liam penned ditty based around a simple piano motif, and is presumably what Noel refers to as the “kind of piano-y, John Lennon-y obligatory plod-away song in the middle, which Liam wrote.” There’s a George Harrison-esque guitar break at one point and a few trite lyrics (“you’ve got to keep on keeping on“), but it’s a fairly pleasant tune. The jury is out on whether this heralds the much vaunted brave new era for the band.

One of the best tunes on the album, in my opinion.
