Sf's Nodzzz seemed like the best heirs to the Feelies nerdy jangle, until a new track finally surfaced from Feelies, and it turned out they didn't need an heir because haven't changed a bit. (So I guess Feelies are the most appropriate heirs to the Feelies sound?)
Anyway, Nodzzz have a 2011 album set for release on Woodist this year called Innings. Have a first taste of it, called "Time (What's It Going To Do?"), here.
Nodzzz aren't just knockoffs, by the way. They're snotty where Feelies are nervous and they prize hooks over drones. They're also definitely pretty far removed from a lot of current lo-fi acts because they're not very trippy or noisy. Nodzzz are a tight, clever pop band with some esoteric interests, making them more of a promising college rock throwback.
