It’s been a while since any fresh No Doubt material surfaced, but the band is promising a new album in 2010. Also, if you’re rich and can afford top-tier seating on their summer 2009 tour, you will be given the chance to download the entire No Doubt back catalog for free. Yes, No Doubt is giving away music for free to the people who can actually afford to pay for it, which provides a great snapshot of music industry cluelessness as this decade comes to a close.
The band members continued their comeback on Ellen DeGeneres’ show yesterday (May 19), where they performed three songs (“Just a Girl,” “Hella Good,” and “Hey Baby”) and were interviewed by the talk show host. Sadly, they didn’t perform as “Snowed Out,” the fictional band they created for an episode of Gossip Girl, who performed a cover of Adam & the Ants’ “Stand and Deliver.”
