When I saw Nine Inch Nails it was generally a great experience, except for the fact that I seemed to be surrounded by enormous, rabid NIN fans from Kentucky, whose sweat glands I swear were drawing directly from Lake Michigan. Shortly after "Closer," I began to fear that I would be trampled in some kind of "omg Trent we love you" rush towards the stage, so with my tail between my legs, I had a security guard lift me from the crowd and over the barricade; my mother hasn't been able to look me in the eye since. It's a shame, watching this excellent video (shot with a Canon 5D Mark II, an SLR!) of a performance of "Burn" in Australia, makes me wish I'd been able to walk around on stage with a camera. "Burn," from the Natural Born Killers soundtrack, still sounds amazing, and this is far better footage than what you normally see of bands while they perform.
Wow!
Thanks for this, Matthew!
