Because she's ever-present on rap radio right now thanks to high profile collabos with Usher ("Little Freak") and Ludacris ("My Chick Bad") and Young Money ("Bedrock"), it's easy to forget that Nicki Minaj still hasn't released a proper single from an album of her own. That changes with the synthy "Massive Attack," the first single, allegedly, from her in-the-works debut for Young Money. Minaj really gets her faux Jamaican patois going here, sounding less like she's from Queens than from Kingston. It remains to be seen if people are as welcoming to Minaj on her own full tracks as they are to her short bars on other peoples', but she really pulls no punches stylistically here. She does her pumped-up Mighty Mouse thing, her double-time rapid-fire thing and her totally incomprehensible thing. You can't say she changes for her bars on pop hits. Listen below.
Minaj's debut is due out later this year.
