New Boyz: "Crickets" f. Tyga (Video)

Nothing will make you feel older than being older than the forefathers of a musical genre. I'm roughly five years older than the New Boyz, the group that was able to bring Jerkin' to the masses, and while I am all for their right to wear tight jeans (which they seem sensitive about in a way only 17-year-olds can be sensitive about clothes) I am against their ability to assault my eardrums with the minimalist and buzzing beat of their new single, "Crickets." The beat sounds just like the title of the song, which makes sense, I guess, but it's not exactly a sound aesthetic choice; it's often more prevalent than the verses and choruses, and it's at least as interesting. When Tyga from Young Money can come on and kill you with a verse, you know you're getting into some pretty bad stuff.
