“Never Will Be Mine” (Video)

Given her profile of late, it’s sort of surprising that it’s taken this long before Robyn has become the hook girl on someone’s single. It’s even more surprising that it’s for a single from Rye Rye, the B-more protege of M.I.A., who borrows Robyn’s “Be Mine” on her song “Never Be Mine.” Robyn appears in the colorful video for the track above, hanging with Rye Rye on the streets as she sees some dude who will never be hers, probably. This has a real opportunity to be the breakout single that Interscope has been waiting for, as it has been been pushing back Rye Rye’s Go! Pop! Bang! for close to two years. It’s allegedly due out this year.
