Lance Bangs directs the retro-looking video for the Thermals’ “Never Listen to Me,” one of the few highlights on the downer called Personal Life. The clip features the band pop-punking it in a park underneath a bridge, and somehow drawing the power for nasty bass tones from a tree. A note for you tech nerds: This is one of the last music videos to probably be shot on Kodachrome film, a videophile film that has since been discontinued. So unless Hype Williams has a stock of it somewhere, this could be it.
Personal Life is out now. [P4K]
