In the opening monologue from this new track from N.E.R.D.’s upcoming album Seeing Sounds, Pharrell discusses growing up in the 80’s and how he came to see sounds. The actual song, too, looks backwards at the 80’s; with the bass line sounding like a long-lost Tone Loc Camaro banger, and the rhymes being sparse self-congratulatory muscle-flexers. Like first single “Everyone Nose,” this song plays like two (or three) songs in one, with N.E.R.D. jumping between styles and melodies quickly over the track’s three minutes.
Seeing Sounds is out on June 10. [Nah Right]
Well, one thing is immediately clear: the first minute can be removed and *nothing* is lost.
The rest of the song plays like either the Neptunes half-assed the recording on purpose (which is ridiculous) or, at this point, just don't care anymore beyond radio play.
It's really quite a shame, cause their first record was fantastic.

Steve what are you blabbing about? This song doesn't sound half-assed at all. It sounds just like NERD.

Wow 2.0....Steve L doesn't seem to be a frequent N.E.R.D listener because their albums are never made for radio....the music is beyond Clear Channel and Radio One spins...Reckless babeling ....
