I wonder if Questlove and the Roots were pissed when on Friday N.E.R.D. performed with a live hip-hop band on Jimmy Fallon, and opted not to invite the Roots to do the music (adding insult to injury, Questlove helped organize N.E.R.D.'s band when they went on tour last summer). During their performance, the group performed new track, "Soldier," which features contributions from Santigold and Lil Wayne, both whom, curiously enough, weren't even in attendance on Friday--their parts were just played over the speakers (including Lil Wayne's full verse). Chad Hugo played baritone sax during the entire song, and Pharrell spazzes out pretty hardcore.
