N.E.R.D.: "Hot N Fun" (Yeasayer Remix)
Look, I'm not the biggest fan of N.E.R.D.'s "Hot N Fun" but at the same time, it's pretty much as good as it is going to get. It's not like adding some vague tribalism and a less awesome bass line is going to make the song any better than it already is (and it is not very good at all). So the idea of a Remix of EP of "Hot N Fun" is pretty meh, as is this Yeasayer remix of the track that is over at Stereogum. It's basically how you'd expect Animal Collective remixes to sound if Animal Collective were in the business of parodying their own work. I guess the consolation is that this isn't as offensive as half of Odd Blood.
The "Hot N Fun" EP is out now. N.E.R.D.'s fourth album, Nothing, is due out in September.

agreed, this song feels incredibly lazy. and strangely out-of-time--wasn't this a pharrell beat from ten years ago? not particularly looking forward to remixes, at this point.
